Backyard Astronomy

This course offers a comprehensive introduction to astronomy through engaging lectures and practical outdoor demonstrations in a dark area. Participants will learn to access and utilize free online resources, including star maps and other tools for night sky observation. The course will explore the pros and cons of various types of telescopes, complemented by demonstrations of each. Students will also learn to identify constellations, nebulae, star clusters, and other galaxies. Additionally, the class will include outdoor observations to locate constellation stars and observe night sky events such as comets and meteors.
